The Presbyterian Home for Children is located in Talladega, Alabama and has been providing ministry and services to children at-risk and in need since 1868. PHC was originally an orphanage but today it provides many more things for children and their families both on and from their 88-acre campus near Talladega.

PHC provides an on-campus ministry for homeless boys and girls and their female caregivers and a ministry focused on helping young women ages 19-24 successfully transition to adulthood.

Presbyterian Home for Children provides an on-campus residential therapeutic treatment program for teenage girls who have been subjected to extreme abuse and neglect and are in Moderate Residential Care under the Alabama DHR.

Ascension Leadership Academy is the Home’s fully accredited AdvancED school for both campus residents and private pay students in the community.

PHC offers other ministries as well including Supportive Housing and Family Bridges which is an Alabama DHR program which is Intensive In-Home Services for both family preservation and reunification.

The Presbyterian Home for Children is a registered 501(c) 3 non-profit serving children and families regardless of race, color, creed, gender, national origin or disability. The ministry is governed by a Board of Trustees elected in part by North Alabama Presbytery, the Presbytery of Sheppards and Lapsley and South Alabama Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
