Missional Division & Committees

The Missional Division works to ensure the gifts and resources and members of the Presbytery of South Alabama are responding to God’s grace through a variety of missions in order to fulfill the Presbytery's vision statement "Trusting in God's unmerited grace and love in Jesus Christ, together we are called to equip, sent out to serve in the world, expecting the Kingdom of God."

The Guatemala Mission Partnership oversees our partnership with Chisec Presbytery in Guatemala and the work teams which are sent to Guatemala each year.

The Disaster Response Commission oversees, recommends and plans for the Presbytery’s response to disasters here and beyond the bounds of the Presbytery. It can raise money and spend money under its control and inform the Presbytery of its actions at its next meeting.

Presbyterian Committee on the Self-Development of People is a ministry that affirms God’s concern for humankind.  We are Presbyterians and ecumenical partners dissatisfied with poverty and oppression, united in faith and action through sharing, confronting, and enabling by participating in the empowerment of economically poor, oppressed, and disadvantaged people, seeking to change the structures that perpetuate poverty, oppression and injustice. UKirk South Alabama is the new PC(USA) campus ministry at South Alabama. We are very excited to connect college-age young people to one another and to a deeper faith.

The Academy for Equipping the Saints oversees and expands our excellent Academy which equips people to be outstanding teachers and leaders with adults and youth.

This team plans and oversees the major aspects of youth ministry in the Presbytery of South Alabama: the Presbytery-wide Youth Gatherings.

Presbytery -Wide Youth Gatherings  provide an opportunity for all youth in our presbytery to connect by gathering for fellowship, fun, study, worship and/or service opportunities.
